The War Against Poverty

There are many people and organizations that are passionate about battling poverty. We can be part of an international team of people who devote themselves to assisting our poverty stricken brothers and sisters. You dont have to fully devote yourself verbatim, but there are other options in which you can do your part in improving the condition of mankind:
- Sponsor your own child from another country
- Donate a lump sum to an organization
- or simply spread the word and raise awareness
Many people are hesitant about donating to organziations because of the fear of being scammed or conned which is quite understandable. If you are one of those people have faith. There are still some credible foundations. If you are serious about donating here is a list of what i believe to be sound and credible foundations:
- CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL "Helping needy children around the world overcome the obstacles of poverty through sponsorship" (www.children.org)
- CARE "Commit to fighting poverty with care" (www.care.org)
- FORD FOUNDATION "Strengthen democratic values, Reduce poverty and injustice, Promote international cooperation, Advance Human Achievement" (www.fordfound.org)
- HEIFER FOUNDATION " Building a legacy for the future" (http://www.heiferfoundation.org/)
- FEED the CHILDREN FOUNDATION "It's who we are. It's what we do." (http://www.feedthechildren.com/)
